FIRST GLOBAL EFFORT ON IMMUNIZATION: MESSAGE TO MANILA SDG EVENT
As the City of Manila is the host of the SDG event, and as this year marks 450th anniversary of founding of the city, it is only appropriate that the organizers gave full support to the UNESCO Programme Día del Galeón or Galeón de Manila celebrating circumnavigation of the world in 16th century.. Professor Jesus de Salvador of the Catholic University of Valencia has sent a message explaining the first global attempt at immunization along Galeón de Manila: in the Philippines, Spain, and today’s Mexico. This is particularly relevant in view of the current pandemic.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PHILIPPINE NORMAL UNIVERSITY (PNU)
The International Secretariat is pleased to announce that it has forged a partnertship with the Philippine Normal University in Manila, a teacher education and research state university embracing the SDGs advocacies. After a meeting which Cecile Guidote Alvarez, Viktor Sebek and Nilo Agustin held with the PNU President Dr. Bert J. Tuga and the Vice President, Dr. Lordinio A. Vergara, it was agered that PNU will host the venue for the ASEAN Art Camp, a part of SDG Manila event, to be held on December 2-3, 2021.

PREPARATION OF TWINNING BETWEEN CITIES OF MANILA AND CARTAGENA DE INDIAS
The International Secretariat of the Manila SDG event is pleased to announce that great progress has been made to secure signing of the Twinning Agreement between the cities of Manila and Cartagena de Indias as a result of efforts of Cecile Alvarez and Viktor Sebek.. Following the request of Mayor of Cartagena, the Hon. William Dau to the Mayor of Manila, the Hon. Isko Moreno, the Council of Manila has approved unanimously the signature of this Agreement. This was announced at the press conference for the SDG Manila event by the Councilor, Hon. Numero Lim, the promoter of the. Manila Council Resolution.Read more
PRESS CONFERENCE FOR THE MANILA SDG EVENT
A press conference, with invited journalists from all leading national papers, was held at the Manila Hotel on Wednesday 10th November. Presentations were made by the former Senator, now President of Philippines Center of ITI, Mr. Joey Lina, who is also President of the Manila Hotel, Cecile Guidote Alvarez Director of the Manila SDG event, Dr. Viktor Sebek, Associate Director of the Manila SDG event, Dr. Lordinio Vergara, Vice President of the Philippine Normal University, a partner in ASEAN Art Camp, and Hon. Councillor Numero Lim of the Manila City Council which acts as the host of the event.
